About Me

aRT by a thousand cuts was borne out of my passion for creating book art by marking, cutting, folding, and excavating. One piece involves many hours and many cuts. I began folding books in November 2021 and, as a Freemason, most of my early pieces involved Masonic symbolism. While I still fold them, I've become increasingly interested in book carving/excavating. I've worked in academic libraries for several years and have great appreciation for the printed word; this is a creative way of repurposing books otherwise bound for the dumpster.

LED addition to jazz things up a bit.

Check out the images on this site and Instagram for examples of my work. As a Freemason, much of my work--but not all--contains or explores Masonic symbolism. Use the form below if there's something specific you'd like created and I'll see what I can do!
